A late start

Well we were supposed to have left home a few days ago, but we're still here working like crazy to fill last minute orders.
The van is just about ready to go and we've been sleeping in it to make sure everything is in the right place. It certainly is nice waking up in the morning and strolling into the house to make a cup of tea.
I've built in an (almost) king size bed, dog kennel suite for two, sound system and mobile kitchen so it should be a comfortable ride. Being able to stand up inside the van makes a huge difference to van-camping in the Astro.
Tomorrow I'm buying tire chains so we can cope, albeit unwillingly, with a Canadian Spring. We are still pondering the wisdom of travelling across Canada this early in the season but are steaming ahead anyway.
The new plan is to leave Mount Vernon, Washington State, this Saturday (May 10), spend a couple of weeks driving to Newfoundland, enjoy some cocktails with 10,000 year old ice for three weeks, then drive home again across the northern US.

Hi. Nice photo, Howards on the web. Annie says it's very important to sign off.
I got on mine here in Bangkok and the language turned to Thai! I hope I pushed the right button.
BTW, it's 93 degrees here!

Record number of icebergs in Newfoundland this year...get 'em while they're hot!
Looking forward to you rolling into town with that monstrous looking chest-freezer-on-wheels!
Fair winds!

HEllo K&J! I'm so impressed that you figured out the blog thing. Are you having good luck finding wireless networks along the way?

Love the photos. Keep 'em coming! Let's see, at 50 miles/day you ought to be at the border by now.

Happy trails, Carole and Perry and Micah
