First of Many Stops

We finally drive away from home at four thirty, just five days and one hour late.
It feels wonderful to have actually left the planning/working part behind.
First stop Bowen Island, with the upcoming mountains looming in the distance, to visit Shannon, Keith, Ben and Matilda.
We missed the full ferry by just one vehicle - even making it onto the ramp before they realized just how long we were. Backing off drew less attention since I silenced the 'backing-up beeper' with a can of spray foam.
It's always so good to see infrequently seen friends again, get a good walloping playing Halo, and wake up to the aroma of bacon.
Now we can just luxuriate in good company.
Realizing with delight we are the masters of our own minds we decide to spend another night here, and enjoy another terrific breakfast the following morning involving more bacon, followed by a walk on the beach.
The sun is gleaming on the mountains as we glide off on the afternoon ferry, heading for Squamish, and Adina, on the route to Whistler.
Now we are motoring - averaging about 50 miles a day! I think we might have to step up the pace a bit or it will be years before we arrive in Newfoundland.
The confluence of the Mamquam and Squamish rivers are right outside her door, and the mountains look close enough to touch. We take a wonderful walk on the the polished stones of the riverbeds with the dogs as the sun glows through the alder trees.
And what a great dinner - tapas, mojitos and lots of stories.
Tonight we will actually sleep in the Sprinter for the first time away from home!
